Two Rivers Public Charter School is seeking a dynamic, dedicated, instructional leader to become the instructional guide of a vibrant educational community. The upper elementary and middle school specials teacher will teach fourth through eighth-graders and work with other educators to integrate the arts throughout the educational program.
Background
Two Rivers Public Charter School serves a diverse group of 970 students in preschool through eighth grade. Two Rivers uses Expeditionary Learning, an educational model that emphasizes interactive, hands-on, project-based learning. The school focuses on the whole child, recognizing the importance of character education and the social-emotional needs of children while helping them achieve academic excellence.

- Demonstrated ability to teach in ways that are interactive, hands-on, project-based, and promote self-discovery and critical thinking
- Demonstrated ability to implement a dynamic, creative, and rigorous approach to education
- Demonstrated knowledge of visual arts, music, or performing arts
- Guide students' self-expression and exploration while deepening their understanding of the arts
- Provide a variety of learning experiences that enable students to demonstrate their skills and acquisitions of concepts through displays, portfolios, performances, electronic media, and other mediums
- Guide teachers to integrate the arts into their classroom work
- Understand curriculum, instruction, and child development
- Commitment to meet the needs of every child in a diverse population
- Demonstrated ability to establish an effective and efficient classroom culture
- Demonstrated accomplishments in the visual arts, music, or performing arts
